Lucky7 Rats are only adopted out to PET homes -- under absolutely no circumstance are they to be fed to another animal. For this reason (and also to cover our costs), we will charge more than your local petshop will.   Keep in mind though that a Lucky7 rat will be hand-tame, socialized, and healthy -- making them well-worth the extra cost!   We are a no cull rattery, though we understand the reasoning behind the practice, we simply do not agree with this methodology and instead treat each "ritten" as part of the family.   Since we are a home-based rattery, we will have a limited number of litters each year, so if you are interested in one of our babies -- let us know as soon as possible in order to reserve the one you want!  We also maintain a waiting list for future breedings - email us at L7Rattery@yahoo.com  for an adoption form or to be added to a litter's waiting list.

         We are willing to work with other approved breeders towards bettering the health, temperament, and physical appearance of the species.  However, certain stipulations apply -- email us for more information.   We also are happy to travel an hour or so to meet adopters of our babies, as long as the adopter is willing to cover any transportation costs.  We will consider shipping in certain situations.  Again, if you have any questions - just email us, and we will be back in touch with you within 24 hours in most cases.

*PRICES* (Unless Otherwise Stated on the Available Rats Page)

Babies:

Standard Sized (Under 4 months) = $25

Dwarf (Under 4 months) = $40

Adult:

Standard Sized = $10

Dwarf = $25

[To explain why we charge more for dwarfs: They have very small litter sizes and are typically more difficult to breed.]

Please know that every cent is reinvested back into the rattery; I lose hundreds of dollars every year keeping up with the health and upkeep of the rats.  Adoption costs help to balance this out a little bit, but breeding quality rats is never going to be a profitable operation!

              We will only adopt out same-sex pairs (or more) unless the buyer has adopted from us before and has a few of our same-sex babies at home with them already.  Rats are very social creatures and should never be housed alone; they need the companionship of another same-sex rat!  It is also important to understand how to quarantine a new rat, so this also makes it crucial to bring home at least two L7 ratties at a time to ensure that they are not alone during their quarantine period.  Dwarf babies can go home with standard sized babies, unless otherwise stated.  It's very important when adopting a dwarf though to have a cage with appropriate bar spacing.  If at any point in one of our rat's life -- you no longer want or have the means to take care of him/her, I will take them back NO QUESTIONS ASKED.  It is very important to me that they are well taken care of and loved for the entirety of their lives.

               We accept paypal or cash.  We no longer accept personal checks; sorry for the inconvenience.
